African American Philanthropy Committee

Give Now

Supporting Black communities. Honoring generosity.

The African American Philanthropy Committee works to expand philanthropy across the Midlands by celebrating a long tradition of generosity, leadership, and community investment. Established in 2019, the committee engages donors, strengthens nonprofits serving Black communities, and directs resources where they can have the greatest impact. Through grantmaking, leadership development, and community giving initiatives, the committee helps build a stronger, more sustainable philanthropic ecosystem. Your support fuels opportunity, strengthens organizations, and advances community-driven solutions throughout the Midlands.

Black Philanthropy Month

August is Black Philanthropy Month! Each year we partner with local organizations to celebrate all month long through events and stories. Founded in 2011 by Dr. Jackie Copeland-Carson and Pan-African Women’s Philanthropy Network, the initiative encompasses self-organized events, community dialogue, and charitable giving across the nation.
