Over $6 million has been contributed to the One SC Fund at Central Carolina Community Foundation. As the statewide philanthropic response to natural disasters, when funds are received, they are distributed through grants to local nonprofits rebuilding South Carolina communities hit hardest by Hurricane Helene. To date, more than $3.8 million has been awarded in grants from the One SC Fund to 54 nonprofit organizations providing relief, recovery, and rebuilding in the wake of Hurricane Helene. From distributing food and supplies to rebuilding homes, local nonprofits are actively responding with support from the One SC Fund.
“We are 9 months past the landfall of Helene, and recovery efforts are still very much underway and needed across much of South Carolina. Thanks to the generosity of the organizations, individuals, and companies who have given to the One SC Fund, these efforts can continue to help communities rebuild,” said Georgia Mjartan, President and CEO of Central Carolina Community Foundation.
The One SC Fund is South Carolina’s statewide philanthropic response to natural disasters and is supported by corporate donors, individuals, and foundations from across the state and country.
