Alexis Wood Honored as 2025 Best and Brightest 35 and Under by Columbia Business Monthly

Central Carolina Community Foundation is proud to announce that Alexis Wood, our Director of Finance, has been honored as one of Columbia Business Monthly’s Monthly 2025 Best and Brightest 35 & Under.

Each September, Columbia Business Monthly honors outstanding young leaders for their professional and community contributions through its Best and Brightest 35 & Under awards program. The publication highlights rising leaders who are shaping the Midlands with their talent, dedication, and vision.

Since joining the Foundation more than five years ago, Alexis has been an integral member of the finance team, advancing from Finance Associate and Finance Officer to her current leadership role. As director of Finance, she serves as the primary contact for financial inquiries from donors, fundholders, and other constituents and oversees our financial systems and database with precision and care.

Alexis holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Coastal Carolina University and is a proud alumna of both Leadership Columbia and Blueprint for Leadership. Her commitment to Columbia extends beyond her professional duties. Alexis serves as Vice Chair of Operations on the board of Columbia Opportunity Resource and as a Palladium board member with Historic Columbia, helping to celebrate and preserve the city’s rich heritage.

When not leading our finance operations or contributing to community efforts, Alexis enjoys traveling with loved ones, reading, experimenting with new recipes, spending time with her daughter, and exploring new hobbies.
