Central Carolina Community Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of its Fiscal Year 2025 General Operating Support Grants to seven Midlands nonprofits —a total $210,000 investment that promises to strengthen the heart of the Midlands nonprofit sector.
This year, each of the seven dynamic organizations, all deeply embedded in their communities, will receive $30,000 in unrestricted funding over the next three years. More than just dollars, these grants fuel stability, innovation, and resilience. With flexible funding, grantees can invest in staff, improve infrastructure, and pivot to meet evolving needs, ensuring they remain powerful agents of change across our region.
“These grants are a vote of confidence in the organizations that know their communities best,” said Trimease Carter at Central Carolina Community Foundation. “By offering general operating support, we’re not just funding programs—we’re empowering leadership, capacity, and long-term impact.”
For organizations like United for Baby, the support is transformative.
“This grant will provide essential stability for United for Baby as we expand to meet growing community needs. These unrestricted funds will strengthen our organizational infrastructure, sustain staffing, and help maintain critical programs such as diaper distribution and maternal health support for families facing hardship,” said Shameka Huff, Founder of United for Baby. “With multi-year support, we can plan for the future, deepen community partnerships, and respond more effectively to urgent situations.”

Launched in 2021, the General Operating Support Grant program provides multiyear, unrestricted funding to nonprofits with annual budgets under $450,000. This initiative empowers organizations to focus on what matters most—delivering impact—by supporting their day-to-day operations, from staffing and systems to infrastructure and strategic growth.
Grantees were chosen for their clear mission, evidence of impact in underserved areas, and potential to grow and adapt in the face of evolving challenges.
This grant program is part of the Central Carolina Community Foundation’s broader vision to build a more equitable, resilient, and thriving Midlands region. By investing in organizations deeply rooted in their communities, the Foundation helps create new opportunities across its 11-county service area.
