At Central Carolina Community Foundation, leadership is at the heart of our work. This year, we are excited to welcome three outstanding community leaders to our Board of Trustees: Betsy Newman, Catherine H. Kennedy, and Sidney Evering, II.
Betsy Newman, a longtime producer at South Carolina ETV, has created over a dozen documentaries sharing South Carolina’s people, history, and culture. Her award-winning work, including the Governor’s Award in the Humanities, has preserved community heritage and deepened public understanding of the state.
Sidney Evering, II, is the City Administrator of Orangeburg, managing daily operations, staff, and programs that serve residents and strengthen the community. His career reflects a commitment to collaboration and growth, with leadership roles at the SC Chamber of Commerce, South Carolina Bar Foundation, and more.
Catherine H. Kennedy, an attorney at Turner Padget Law, is recognized statewide for her expertise in probate and trust law. With decades of experience, she has guided families with skill and compassion while shaping state law, advancing mediation, and serving in leadership at the South Carolina Bar.
Sidney, Catherine, and Betsy bring valuable expertise to guide the Foundation’s mission. We are proud to welcome their leadership to our Board of Trustees as we continue strengthening the Midlands through philanthropy.
We are also deeply grateful for our board members, Harriett Green, Ken May, and Troy Simpson, who are transitioning off the board this year. Thank you for your dedicated service to the Foundation and for helping make the Midlands more vibrant and connected.
Finally, a special thank you to Cory Manning, our Board Chair, for leading with commitment and care for the past two years. We are grateful for his leadership and look forward to his continued service as Immediate Past Chair, where his guidance will remain a vital part of our work.
