Sumter Community Foundation Welcomes Three New Board Members

October 27, 2025

The Sumter Community Foundation, an affiliate of Central Carolina Community Foundation, has served Sumter County since 1998, providing resources to meet a wide range of charitable needs. Guided by community-minded leaders, Sumter Community Foundation began Fiscal Year 2026 by welcoming three new members to its Board of Advisors: Missy Corrigan, Glenn Woodrum, and Scott Zobrist. Each brings valuable experience, leadership, and a deep commitment to serving others.

Missy Corrigan

Missy Corrigan, CEO of the Sumter YMCA, has spent more than a decade promoting health and wellness through collaboration and innovation. From creating a nationally recognized healthy living program to advocating for policy change in Washington, D.C., she has dedicated her career to improving lives and strengthening community partnerships.

Glenn Woodrum

Glenn Woodrum, a successful entrepreneur and longtime community volunteer, brings a lifetime of business and service experience to the board. Starting out as a carhop in West Virginia, he went on to build a restaurant enterprise in South Carolina, owning more than thirty locations. Now retired, he continues to give back through Sumter Christian Charities and the Backpack Blessings ministry at First Presbyterian Church.

Major General (Ret.) Scott Zobrist

Major General (Ret.) Scott Zobrist joins the board after a 33-year Air Force career, culminating as Commander of the Ninth Air Force at Shaw Air Force Base. A command pilot with over 2,500 flight hours, he led combat and coalition operations worldwide. Today, as President of the Support of Shaw Committee, he continues to strengthen ties between the base and the Sumter community he proudly serves.

With these new additions, the Sumter Community Foundation looks toward the future with renewed energy and purpose. Together, its board members will continue to advance Sumter Community Foundation’s mission to support charitable initiatives that enhance the quality of life and ensure a thriving, connected Sumter County for years to come.
